Hello! I am Angel, the founder and incumbent president of ReMINDer. I am in my first year studying MSci Psychology at University College London. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, I hope to contribute to mental health advocacy by working with NGOs.

In the past decades, little has been done to improve the public’s understanding of mental health in Hong Kong. Citizens may acknowledge the existence of mental illnesses and the importance of mental health, yet deep-rooted stigma and misunderstandings remain pervasive in our society.

To advocate for mental health as a student, I founded ReMINDer with like-minded individuals. To my surprise, many team members have suffered from or know someone suffering from mental health conditions, signifying the prevalence of mental health issues in Hong Kong.

This is exactly why we, ReMINDer, are here: to bring relevant information, resources and services to the public, such that everyone in Hong Kong understands mental illnesses and the importance of mental health, and those with mental health conditions are no longer looked down upon.

As ReMINDer enters its third year, we will fully focus on our digital campaign. I hope you find our videos informative and insightful, our website creative and interactive, and our social media pages reflective and thought-provoking. Last but not least, I hope you no longer feel lonely amidst emotional distress, instead feel empowered to combat mental health conditions alongside your loved ones.

Hello, I’m Kinsey, incoming first-year Psychology and Philosophy (PPL) student at Oxford. I’m particularly interested in cognition and consciousness, and I aspire to be a researcher.

Managing St. Paul’s Co-educational College’s Psychology Enthusiasts’ Circle made me acutely aware of our society’s alarmingly low mental health literacy, which led to the foundation of ReMINDer. I hope to bridge the gap between professionals and the Hong Kong public: to turn mental health knowledge held within professional/academic circles into digestible and accessible morsels for the public’s consumption. By producing videos about mental health, we hope to fill in the gaps of Hong Kong’s existing mental health support framework and reach more citizens. May our enthusiasm and efforts lead to positive change in our city.

Publicity Director

Hello, I’m Chloe, the Publicity Director of ReMINDer for the upcoming year. I will be studying media in Australia. Being aware of the declining mental health attention in Hong Kong, I hope to use my profession in publicising mental health and bonding the community with people suffering from mental health, whilst enhancing my knowledge in media. This led to the establishment of ReMINDer in 2019 with other executive team members. Through posting regularly on social media and production of videos, I hope to use real-life stories and mental health knowledge to pull mental health closer to our society.

May we fill the society with our passion to bring changes to our hometown!
